Sedation Dentistry

Are you part of the 50% of the population that experiences fear going to the dentist? We understand your fear. It’s okay to feel the way you do. Many of our patients feel much the same way. We understand that many of our patients want to have a healthy mouth, teeth that last and a lovely smile, but have had the obstacle of fear keeping them from attaining this.

Our caring team can talk to you about how we can help you have the healthy, bright smile you’ve been wanting, while being able to jump over the hurdle of fear and dental anxiety. Many times conscious sedation dentistry is the answer. Our patients come in and get their dentistry done pain free, and often get several treatments in a single visit, and go home with little memory of the visit. If there was a way that you could have your dental treatment accomplished in minimal visits, with no pain and little memory of this experience, would you be encouraged to seek out dental care? Hopefully the answer is a resounding YES! We can help.

We offer oral conscious sedation and nitrous oxide.

Oral Conscious Sedation

With the oral conscious sedation dentistry treatment, we administer a pill before your appointment and you will take it before you arrive. Because the oral conscious sedation dentistry might make you a little woozy, you will need to find transportation to and from your appointment. Oral conscious sedation methods are safe and easy to use. Many patients prefer oral conscious sedation as they are awake but less easily stimulated by noise.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide is a time-tested safe gas that is combined with oxygen that you inhale. Nitrous oxide works quickly and dissipates quickly, so you can drive to and from your appointment. Nitrous oxide helps you relax, though you are awake during your entire procedure. Nitrous oxide has no smell and is a gentle dental sedation method.

Advantages of Sedation Dentistry

With sedation dentistry, many of our patients experience little to no pain during their procedures because when you are tense, you feel pain more keenly. Once you relax, the tension you feel can disappearand you are much less apt to feel pain.

When we use sedation dentistry, we can often perform several procedures in one visit. This saves you time! Sedation dentistry can sometimes not only take away your dental anxiety, you may start to look forward to your visits with us!
